Ingredients

Wet Ingredients
  • 1 cup unsalted butter melted
  • 1 cup brown sugar packed
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
Dry Ingredients
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
Mix-ins
  • 1 cup M&M's plus extra for topping
  • 1/2 cup chopped nuts optional

Equipment

  • 9×13 inch baking pan
  • Large Mixing Bowl
  • Spatula

Method

  1. Step 1: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x13 inch baking pan or line it with parchment paper for easy removal.
  2. Step 2: In a large mixing bowl, combine the melted butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar. Mix well until smooth. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.
  3. Step 3: In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt until well combined.
  4. Step 4: Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, stirring until just combined. Be careful not to overmix.
  5. Step 5: Gently fold in the M&M's and chopped nuts, if using, until evenly distributed throughout the batter.
  6. Step 6: Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan, spreading it evenly with a spatula. Sprinkle additional M&M's on top if desired.
  7. Step 7: Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with a few moist crumbs.
  8. Step 8: Allow the blondies to cool in the pan for about 10 minutes, then lift them out using the parchment paper (if used) and transfer to a wire rack to cool completely. Once cool, cut into squares and enjoy!

Notes

These delicious blondies can be stored in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week. If you want to keep them fresh for longer, you can refrigerate them for up to two weeks. Just make sure to let them come back to room temperature before serving!
