Ingredients

For the Stromboli
  • 1 lb pizza dough store-bought or homemade
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese the star of the show
  • 1 cup sliced pepperoni
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese for extra cheesy goodness
  • 1 tsp garlic powder to enhance flavor
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning a blend of herbs
  • 1 each egg, beaten for a golden finish
For Serving
  • Marinara sauce

Equipment

  • Oven
  • Baking Sheet
  • Rolling Pin
  • Parchment Paper

Method

  1. Step 1: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). This step is crucial for that perfect golden crust.
  2. Step 2: Roll out the pizza dough on a lightly floured surface into a rectangle. Don’t worry about making it perfect—just aim for even thickness.
  3. Step 3: Sprinkle the mozzarella cheese evenly over the dough, leaving a 1-inch border all around.
  4. Step 4: Layer the pepperoni slices on top of the mozzarella cheese.
  5. Step 5: Sprinkle the Parmesan cheese, garlic powder, and Italian seasoning over the pepperoni.
  6. Step 6: Starting from one edge, carefully roll the dough into a tight log, sealing the edges as you go.
  7. Step 7: Place the rolled stromboli seam-side down on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  8. Step 8: Brush the top of the stromboli with the beaten egg.
  9. Step 9: Cut a few slits on top to allow steam to escape.
  10. Step 10: Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes or until golden brown.
  11. Step 11: Remove from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes before slicing.
  12. Step 12: Serve warm with marinara sauce for dipping. Enjoy every cheesy bite!

Notes

If you have leftovers, wrap the stromboli tightly in plastic wrap or aluminum foil and store in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat in the oven at 350°F (175°C) for about 10-15 minutes to restore that fresh-baked taste.
