Method
- Step 1: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9x13 inch baking pan or line it with parchment paper for easy removal.
- Step 2: In a large mixing bowl, combine the melted butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar. Whisk until smooth and well combined.
- Step 3: Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract and red food coloring until the mixture is vibrant and uniform.
- Step 4: In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt.
- Step 5: Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing just until combined. Be careful not to overmix; you want your brownies to be fudgy!
- Step 6: If using, fold in the white chocolate chips for extra richness.
- Step 7: Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and spread it evenly.
- Step 8: Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with a few moist crumbs (not wet batter).
- Step 9: Remove from the oven and let the brownies cool in the pan for about 10 minutes. Then, transfer to a wire rack to cool completely before cutting into squares.
