Ingredients

Base Ingredients
  • 1 cup beeswax pastilles This is the base that helps your lotion bars hold their shape.
  • 1/2 cup shea butter Incredibly moisturizing and has a lovely nutty scent.
  • 1/2 cup coconut oil Adds a touch of tropical goodness and deeply hydrates the skin.
  • 1 tbsp sweet almond oil A fantastic carrier oil that nourishes and softens.
  • 20 drops sweet orange essential oil Gives your bars a refreshing citrus scent.
  • 10 drops vanilla essential oil A warm, comforting aroma that pairs beautifully with orange.

Equipment

  • Double Boiler
  • Silicone Molds or Baking Pan

Method

  1. Step 1: In a double boiler, combine the beeswax pastilles, shea butter, and coconut oil. Heat over medium-low until everything is melted and smooth, stirring occasionally to combine.
  2. Step 2: Once melted, take it off the heat and stir in the sweet almond oil, sweet orange essential oil, and vanilla essential oil. Make sure to mix well so the oils are evenly distributed.
  3. Step 3: Carefully pour the liquid mixture into your silicone molds or the prepared baking pan. Let it cool at room temperature for about 2 hours, or until fully set.
  4. Step 4: Once solid, gently pop the lotion bars out of the molds. If you used a baking pan, simply cut the bars into your preferred sizes.
  5. Step 5: Store your lovely lotion bars in a cool, dry place. They should last for several months!

Notes

For optimal shelf life, keep your lotion bars in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.
