- Step 1: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Step 2: In a 9-inch round cake pan, pour the melted butter evenly over the bottom. Sprinkle the brown sugar on top of the butter, spreading it out evenly.
- Step 3: Place the halved strawberries, cut side down, in a single layer over the brown sugar mixture. Set aside.
- Step 4: In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt until well combined.
- Step 5: In another bowl, mix the milk, eggs, and vanilla extract. Whisk until well combined.
- Step 6: Gradually add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients, stirring until just combined. Be careful not to overmix; a few lumps are okay.
- Step 7: Carefully pour the batter over the arranged strawberries in the cake pan, spreading it evenly.
- Step 8: Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Step 9: Let the cake cool in the pan for about 10 minutes. Then, run a knife around the edges and carefully invert the cake onto a serving plate. Let it cool completely.
- Step 10: Slice and serve the cake warm or at room temperature. Enjoy!
Notes
Store any leftover cake in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days. If you want to keep it longer, you can refrigerate it for about a week. Just remember to let it come to room temperature before serving for the best flavor!
