  • 1 cup granulated sugar

  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2.5 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 0.5 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup powdered sugar (for dusting)

Method
 

  1. Step 1: Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Step 2: In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Step 3: Beat in the egg and vanilla extract until well combined.
  4. Step 4: In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
  5. Step 5: Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, mixing until just combined.
  6. Step 6: Roll the dough into small balls and place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
  7. Step 7: Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden.
  8. Step 8: Remove from the oven and allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
  9. Step 9: Once cooled, dust the cookies with powdered sugar and decorate with edible flower petals as desired.

Notes

Store cookies in an airtight container for up to one week. You can substitute the edible flower petals with other decorations if desired.
