Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 8 oz Brie wheel chilled
  • 1/4 cup hot honey or honey with a pinch of red pepper flakes
  • 14 pieces thin pretzel sticks
  • 1/3 cup pecans finely chopped
  • 1/3 cup dried cranberries finely chopped
  • 2 tbsp green onions finely chopped
  • 1 tbsp parsley chopped
  • pinch black pepper

Equipment

  • Sharp Knife
  • Shallow Dish
  • Brush or Small Bowl

Method

  1. Step 1: Chill the Brie for 10 minutes to firm it up for easier slicing.
  2. Step 2: Cut the Brie into 14 small wedges, like slicing a tiny pizza for even portions.
  3. Step 3: In a shallow dish, mix finely chopped pecans, dried cranberries, green onions, parsley, and a pinch of black pepper to create the coating mixture.
  4. Step 4: If pretzel sticks are too long, break them in half. Press one half into the wide end of each Brie wedge as a crunchy handle.
  5. Step 5: Brush or dip the top of each Brie wedge in hot honey to create a sticky glaze.
  6. Step 6: Press the honey-coated side into the pecan mixture to coat well with a flavorful layer.
  7. Step 7: Arrange the finished bites on a platter and serve immediately for best texture and flavor.

Notes

For gluten-free options, swap pretzel sticks with gluten-free crackers or crunchy vegetable sticks like celery or cucumber. You can also customize the nuts, dried fruit, herbs, and honey flavors to fit your taste. Store assembled bites in an airtight container in the fridge up to 24 hours, though pretzels may lose crunch. Prepare components ahead but assemble just before serving.
