Method
- Step 1: Cut cabbage into 1-inch thick ribbons and slice carrots into 1/2-inch coins. In a small bowl, mix garlic powder, onion powder, oregano, sugar (optional), salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes.
- Step 2: Heat a skillet over medium-high heat. Add ground beef and brown for 5–7 minutes, breaking apart with a wooden spoon until no longer pink. Drain excess fat.
- Step 3: Transfer browned beef to slow cooker. Add cabbage, carrots, and pour tomato sauce over. Sprinkle seasoning mixture on top and stir gently to combine.
- Step 4: Cover and cook on high for 2 hours or on low for 4 hours until cabbage is tender but still slightly firm.
- Step 5: Taste and adjust seasoning with salt or red pepper flakes before serving.
Notes
Serve with garlic bread or mashed potatoes for a comforting meal. Leftovers store well in the fridge up to 4 days or freeze for up to 3 months. Reheat gently with a splash of water or broth if needed.
