  • 1 cup cream cheese softened
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar packed
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup caramel sauce
  • sea salt for sprinkling

Method
 

  1. Step 1: Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Step 2: In a large mixing bowl, combine the softened cream cheese and butter. Beat until smooth and creamy.
  3. Step 3: Add the granulated sugar and brown sugar to the mixture, and continue to beat until well combined.
  4. Step 4: Mix in the egg and vanilla extract until fully incorporated.
  5. Step 5: In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, mixing until just combined.
  6. Step 6: Fold in the caramel sauce until evenly distributed throughout the dough.
  7. Step 7: Drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
  8. Step 8: Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden.
  9. Step 9: Remove from the oven and immediately sprinkle a small pinch of sea salt on top of each cookie.
  10. Step 10: Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

Store cookies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week. You can also use different types of caramel sauce for varied flavors.
