Ingredients
  

For the Cake
  • 1 box chocolate cake mix provides rich chocolate flavor
  • 1 cup water helps to bring the batter together
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil adds moisture and richness

For the Peanut Butter Swirl
  • 1 cup creamy peanut butter adds a luscious swirl of flavor
  • 1 cup powdered sugar sweetens the peanut butter mixture
  • 1 cup Reese’s peanut butter cups, chopped extra chocolatey goodness
  • 1 cup chocolate chips more chocolate is always a good idea
  • 1/2 cup chopped pecans optional for added crunch

Method
 

  1. Step 1: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease and flour a 9x13 inch baking pan.
  2. Step 2: In a large bowl, combine the chocolate cake mix, water, vegetable oil, and eggs. Mix until everything is well combined.
  3. Step 3: Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan, spreading it evenly.
  4. Step 4: In a separate bowl, mix the peanut butter and powdered sugar until smooth. Drop spoonfuls of this mixture over the cake batter.
  5. Step 5: Using a knife or skewer, gently swirl the peanut butter mixture into the cake batter.
  6. Step 6: Sprinkle the chopped Reese’s peanut butter cups, chocolate chips, and pecans (if using) over the top of the batter.
  7. Step 7: Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  8. Step 8: Allow the cake to cool in the pan before slicing and serving.

Notes

Store your cake in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days, or refrigerate for up to a week. You can also freeze it for up to 3 months.
