- Step 1: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease and flour a 9x13 inch baking pan.
- Step 2: In a large bowl, combine the chocolate cake mix, water, vegetable oil, and eggs. Mix until everything is well combined.
- Step 3: Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan, spreading it evenly.
- Step 4: In a separate bowl, mix the peanut butter and powdered sugar until smooth. Drop spoonfuls of this mixture over the cake batter.
- Step 5: Using a knife or skewer, gently swirl the peanut butter mixture into the cake batter.
- Step 6: Sprinkle the chopped Reese’s peanut butter cups, chocolate chips, and pecans (if using) over the top of the batter.
- Step 7: Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Step 8: Allow the cake to cool in the pan before slicing and serving.

Store your cake in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days, or refrigerate for up to a week. You can also freeze it for up to 3 months.
