Ingredients

For the Pineapple Blueberry Margarita
  • 1 cup fresh pineapple chunks
  • 0.5 cup fresh blueberries
  • 2 oz tequila blanco recommended
  • 1 oz triple sec can be substituted with orange juice for non-alcoholic version
  • 1 oz fresh lime juice freshly squeezed
  • 0.5 oz simple syrup
  • salt optional, for rimming glass
  • ice for chilling and serving

Equipment

  • Cocktail shaker
  • Muddler or wooden spoon
  • Fine strainer (optional)
  • Glass

Method

  1. Step 1: Rim your glass with salt (optional) by rubbing a lime wedge around the rim and dipping it into salt.
  2. Step 2: Place fresh pineapple chunks and blueberries into a cocktail shaker and gently muddle to release juices.
  3. Step 3: Add tequila, triple sec, fresh lime juice, and simple syrup to the shaker with the muddled fruit.
  4. Step 4: Fill the shaker with ice and shake vigorously for about 15 seconds to chill and blend flavors.
  5. Step 5: Strain the mixture into your prepared glass filled with fresh ice, using a fine strainer if desired to remove seeds and pulp.
  6. Step 6: Garnish with a few pineapple chunks and blueberries on top for a pretty presentation and extra fruity bite. Serve immediately.

Notes

Use fresh fruit for best flavor. You can swap triple sec with orange juice for a non-alcoholic version. Try different berries or add sparkling water for a fizzier drink. Store leftovers in a sealed container in the fridge and consume within 24 hours. Add ice fresh before serving to avoid dilution.
