Method
- Step 1: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Step 2: In a 9-inch round cake pan, melt the butter over low heat. Sprinkle the brown sugar evenly over the melted butter. Arrange the peach slices on top of the brown sugar mixture in a circular pattern.
- Step 3: In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, and salt. In another bowl, whisk together the milk, eggs, and vanilla extract. Gradually add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients, mixing until just combined.
- Step 4: Pour the batter over the arranged peaches in the cake pan, smoothing it out evenly.
- Step 5: Bake in the preheated oven for 35-40 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Step 6: Remove the cake from the oven and let it cool in the pan for about 10 minutes. Carefully invert the cake onto a serving plate so that the peaches are on top. Serve warm or at room temperature.
Notes
Store any leftover cake in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days. Refrigerate for about a week for longer storage.
