Ingredients

For the Dough
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour The base for our dough.
  • 2 tbsp granulated sugar To add a touch of sweetness to the dough.
  • 1 tbsp baking powder This helps the rolls rise beautifully.
  • 1/2 tsp salt A pinch of salt balances out the sweetness.
  • 1/2 cup milk Adds moisture to the dough.
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter melted, richness that makes everything better.
  • 1 large egg Helps bind the dough together.
For the Filling
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar packed, for that deep caramel flavor in the filling.
  • 1 tbsp ground cinnamon The classic spice we all love.
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter softened, to spread over the dough.
  • 1 cup crushed Oreo cookies The star of the show!
For the Cream Cheese Glaze
  • 4 oz cream cheese softened, for a luscious glaze.
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar adds sweetness to the glaze.
  • 2 tbsp milk to achieve the perfect glaze consistency.
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract for that lovely flavor kick.

Equipment

  • Large Bowl
  • Baking Dish
  • Medium bowl

Method

  1. Step 1: In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt. In another bowl, mix the milk, melted butter, and egg until well combined. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until a dough forms. Lightly knead the dough on a floured surface for about 1 minute until smooth. Roll the dough into a rectangle (about 12x8 inches).
  2. Step 2: In a small bowl, combine the brown sugar and cinnamon. Spread the softened butter over the rolled-out dough, then sprinkle the cinnamon-sugar mixture evenly on top. Evenly distribute the crushed Oreo cookies over the filling.
  3. Step 3: Starting from the long edge, carefully roll the dough into a tight log. Cut the log into 8 equal pieces and place them in a greased baking dish.
  4. Step 4: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Bake the cinnamon rolls for 20-25 minutes, or until golden brown.
  5. Step 5: In a medium bowl, beat the cream cheese until smooth. Add the powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract, mixing until creamy.
  6. Step 6: Drizzle the cream cheese glaze over the warm cinnamon rolls and enjoy!
