Method
- Step 1: In a large skillet over medium heat, add the ground beef or turkey. Cook until browned, breaking it apart with a spoon as it cooks. Drain any excess fat.
- Step 2: Stir in the diced onion and minced garlic to the skillet. Sauté until the onion is translucent, about 3-4 minutes.
- Step 3: Add the ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, mustard, salt, and pepper. Mix well and let it simmer on low heat for about 10 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.
- Step 4: While the meat mixture is simmering, preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). In a small bowl, mix the softened butter with garlic powder. Spread this mixture over each slice of bread.
- Step 5: Place the garlic buttered bread on a baking sheet and bake in the preheated oven for about 5-7 minutes, or until golden and crispy.
- Step 6: Remove the bread from the oven. Spoon the meat mixture generously over each slice of toasted bread. Top with shredded cheddar cheese.
- Step 7: Return the loaded toasts to the oven and bake for an additional 5 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
- Step 8: Remove from the oven and garnish with chopped fresh parsley. Serve immediately and enjoy!
