Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup baking soda This is the base for our treasure stones, giving them their unique texture.
  • 1/2 cup water Helps create a paste that binds everything together.
  • 1/2 cup white vinegar The fizzing reaction with baking soda is what makes this craft so fun!
  • food coloring various colors, use any shades you like to personalize your stones.
  • 1 tbsp corn syrup Adds a nice shine and a bit of stickiness.
  • Silicone molds or ice cube trays
  • Paper towels

Method
 

  1. Step 1: In a mixing bowl, combine the baking soda and water until it forms a thick paste.
  2. Step 2: Slowly add the white vinegar to the mixture. Stir until well combined.
  3. Step 3: Divide the mixture into separate containers for each color of food coloring you plan to use.
  4. Step 4: Add drops of food coloring to each container and mix until desired colors are achieved.
  5. Step 5: Stir in 1 tablespoon of corn syrup to each mixture for added texture and shine.
  6. Step 6: Pour the colored mixtures into silicone molds or ice cube trays, filling them halfway.
  7. Step 7: Allow the stones to dry for 24 hours at room temperature.
  8. Step 8: Once dried, remove the stones from the molds and place them on paper towels to absorb excess moisture.
  9. Step 9: To activate the color-changing effect, expose the stones to warm water or sunlight.

Notes

Store in a cool, dry place. They should last quite a while if kept away from moisture.
