Method
- Step 1: In a large skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef until fully cooked. Drain any excess fat and set the beef aside.
- Step 2: In the same skillet, add olive oil and sliced onions. Sauté for about 5-7 minutes until the onions are soft and translucent. Add minced garlic and cook for an additional 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
- Step 3: Return the cooked ground beef to the skillet. Stir in the beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, dried thyme, salt, and black pepper. Bring to a simmer and let it cook for about 10 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld together.
- Step 4: While the beef mixture simmers, lightly toast the hamburger buns in a separate skillet or toaster until golden brown.
- Step 5: Spoon the beef mixture onto the bottom half of each toasted bun. Top with shredded provolone cheese and place the top half of the bun over it.
- Step 6: Return the assembled Sloppy Joes to the skillet over low heat, cover, and let the cheese melt for 2-3 minutes.
- Step 7: Garnish with chopped fresh parsley and serve hot with your favorite side dishes.
Notes
