Ingredients

For the Banana Bread Cake

  • 1/3 cup melted butter Because butter makes everything better!
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda This helps our cake rise beautifully.
  • 3/4 cup sugar Sweetness is key in this treat.
  • 1 large egg beaten, adds richness and binds everything together.
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract For that warm, comforting aroma.
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour The foundation of our cake.
  • 1/2 cup chopped walnuts or chocolate chips Optional, a fun twist for extra flavor!

Equipment

  • Loaf Pan
  • Mixing Bowl

Method

  1. Step 1: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x5 inch loaf pan.
  2. Step 2: In a mixing bowl, mix the melted butter with the mashed bananas until smooth.
  3. Step 3: Stir in the baking soda and salt. Mix well to combine.
  4. Step 4: Add the sugar, beaten egg, and vanilla extract to the mixture. Stir until everything is well combined.
  5. Step 5: Gently fold in the flour until just incorporated. Be careful not to over-mix; we want our banana bread cake to be fluffy!
  6. Step 6: If you’re feeling adventurous, fold in walnuts or chocolate chips at this stage for a delightful surprise.
  7. Step 7: Pour the batter into the greased loaf pan and smooth the top with a spatula.
  8. Step 8: Bake in the preheated oven for 60-65 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
