For the Cream Mixture
  • 1 cup mascarpone cheese
  • 1 cup heavy whipping cream
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 24 pieces ladyfinger cookies
For Garnish
  • to taste unsweetened cocoa powder for dusting
  • to taste chocolate shavings or cocoa nibs optional

Equipment

  • Shallow Dish
  • Large Mixing Bowl
  • Electric Mixer
  • Serving Cups
  • Plastic wrap

Method

  1. Step 1: In a shallow dish, combine the cooled brewed coffee and coffee liqueur (if using). Set aside.
  2. Step 2: In a large mixing bowl, combine mascarpone cheese, heavy whipping cream, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract. Using an electric mixer, beat the mixture on medium speed until soft peaks form.
  3. Step 3: Quickly dip each ladyfinger into the coffee mixture, ensuring they are soaked but not soggy. Layer the soaked ladyfingers at the bottom of serving cups, then spoon a layer of the mascarpone cream mixture over them. Repeat layers until cups are filled, finishing with a layer of mascarpone cream on top.
  4. Step 4: Cover the cups with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 4 hours or overnight to allow the flavors to meld.
  5. Step 5: Before serving, dust the tops of the tiramisu cups with unsweetened cocoa powder and garnish with chocolate shavings or cocoa nibs if desired.

Notes

These cups can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. They taste even better the next day after chilling!
