Method
- Step 1: Start by cutting a piece of clear contact paper or a transparency sheet to your desired size. This will be your canvas.
- Step 2: If you're using tissue paper, cut it into small shapes or squares. Get creative! Think about different colors and patterns.
- Step 3: Arrange the colored tissue paper pieces on the sticky side of the contact paper or transparency sheet. Try different designs until you find one that you love.
- Step 4: Once satisfied with your arrangement, place another piece of clear contact paper on top to seal your design.
- Step 5: Trim any excess contact paper or transparency sheet around the edges to give it a neat finish.
- Step 6: For a touch of flair, cut shapes from black construction paper to outline your design. Glue these onto the suncatcher for more detail.
- Step 7: If you want to hang your suncatcher, use a hole punch to create a hole at the top. Thread a string through for easy hanging.
- Step 8: Finally, hang your suncatcher in a window and watch as it comes to life when the sunlight shines through it!
Notes
These suncatchers are best enjoyed hanging in the window, but if you need to store them, keep them flat in a box or a drawer, away from direct sunlight to prevent fading.
