Method
- Step 1: Preheat the oven according to the instructions on the cake mix box. Grease and flour a 9x13 inch baking pan.
- Step 2: Prepare the vanilla cake mix according to the package instructions, using the required water, oil, and eggs. Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan.
- Step 3: Bake the cake in the preheated oven for the time specified on the cake mix box, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Allow the cake to cool in the pan for about 10 minutes, then remove it from the pan and let it cool completely on a wire rack.
- Step 4: Once the cake is completely cooled, use the handle of a wooden spoon to poke holes evenly across the surface of the cake.
- Step 5: In a bowl, combine the sweetened condensed milk and chocolate syrup. Pour the mixture evenly over the poked holes in the cake, allowing it to soak in.
- Step 6: Spread the whipped topping evenly over the cake.
- Step 7: In a separate bowl, mix the shredded coconut with a few drops of green food coloring until the coconut is evenly tinted. Sprinkle the green coconut over the whipped topping to create a grassy effect.
- Step 8: Decorate the top of the cake with candy eyes and jelly beans or chocolate eggs to create the appearance of a bunny.
- Step 9: Chill the cake in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour before serving. Slice and enjoy.
Notes
For a fun twist, you can use different colors of food coloring for the coconut or add other decorations like chocolate bunnies.
