- Step 1: In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the diced chicken breast, seasoning it with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. Cook until the chicken is browned and cooked through, about 6-8 minutes. Once done, remove the chicken from the skillet and set it aside.
- Step 2: In the same skillet, pour in the chicken broth and bring it to a boil. Stir in the orzo pasta and cook according to package instructions, usually about 8-10 minutes, until al dente.
- Step 3: Once the orzo is cooked, reduce the heat to low. Stir in the heavy cream, BBQ sauce, and ranch dressing. Mix well until everything is nicely combined.
- Step 4: Add the cooked chicken back into the skillet along with the shredded white cheddar cheese. Stir until the cheese melts and everything is well mixed. Taste and adjust the seasoning with more salt and pepper if needed.
- Step 5: Once everything is creamy and heated through, remove from heat. Garnish with fresh chopped parsley before serving.
Notes
Store any leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. When you're ready to enjoy it again, simply reheat on the stove, adding a splash of chicken broth or cream to loosen it up.
