- Step 1: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Step 2: In a medium mixing bowl, beat the softened cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth and creamy.
- Step 3: Spread the cherry pie filling evenly in the bottom of a greased 9x13 inch baking dish.
- Step 4: Drop spoonfuls of the cream cheese mixture over the cherry filling.
- Step 5: Evenly sprinkle the dry yellow cake mix over the entire dish.
- Step 6: Drizzle the melted butter over the cake mix.
- Step 7: Bake in the preheated oven for 40-45 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and set.
- Step 8: Allow the cake to cool for a few minutes before serving.
- Step 9: Serve warm or at room temperature, topped with whipped topping if desired.
Notes
This cake is best enjoyed fresh, but if you have leftovers, cover with plastic wrap or foil and keep in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
