  • 1 package cream cheese softened, 8 oz
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
For the Cake Layer
  • 1 box yellow cake mix 15.25 oz
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter melted
  • 1 cup whipped topping optional, for serving

Method
 

  1. Step 1: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Step 2: In a medium mixing bowl, beat the softened cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth and creamy.
  3. Step 3: Spread the cherry pie filling evenly in the bottom of a greased 9x13 inch baking dish.
