Ingredients

For the Candy Grapes Galaxy Grapes
  • 20-25 pieces fresh grapes washed, dried, and firm seedless
  • 2 cups white granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1/4 cup light corn syrup
  • white gel food coloring for brightening colors and galaxy glow
  • 3-4 drops each gel food coloring (neon pink, sky blue, purple) for marbled galaxy effect
  • 2 tsp flavored oil cotton candy or tropical punch
  • sprinkles optional, for texture and color pop

Equipment

  • Medium Saucepan
  • Candy Thermometer
  • Skewers or Toothpicks
  • Parchment Paper or Silicone Mat

Method

  1. Step 1: Soak grapes in water with a splash of white vinegar for 5 minutes to remove wax and residue. Rinse thoroughly and dry completely. Insert a skewer or toothpick into each grape and set aside.
  2. Step 2: In a medium saucepan, combine sugar, corn syrup, and water. Heat over medium and clip on a candy thermometer. Cook without stirring until the mixture reaches 300°F (hard crack stage) and turns amber.
  3. Step 3: Remove pan from heat. Quickly stir in white gel food coloring and flavored oil. Add drops of neon pink, sky blue, and purple gel colors and gently swirl to create a marbled galaxy pattern without over-mixing.
  4. Step 4: Working quickly, dip each skewered grape into the candy syrup, spinning gently to coat evenly. If desired, roll coated grapes in sprinkles immediately before candy sets.
  5. Step 5: Place dipped grapes on parchment paper or a silicone mat to cool and harden for about 15 minutes until candy shell is set.

Notes

Store candy grapes in an airtight container at room temperature; avoid refrigeration to prevent stickiness. Best enjoyed within 1–2 days. For longer storage, wrap individually in wax paper and keep in a cool dry place. Customize with different flavored oils, color variations, or add crushed nuts for texture.
