Ingredients

For the Sliders
  • 1 lb ground beef 80/20 for juicy, flavorful patties
  • 1 tsp salt to season the beef
  • 1 tsp black pepper to season the beef
  • 6 slices cheddar cheese
  • 12 pieces slider buns small and soft
  • 1 cup shredded lettuce
  • 1/2 cup dill pickles sliced
For the Special Sauce
  • mayonnaise, ketchup, yellow mustard, white vinegar, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, sugar special sauce ingredients combined to taste

Equipment

  • Large Bowl
  • Griddle or Non-stick Skillet
  • Lid (optional for melting cheese)

Method

  1. Step 1: Place ground beef in a large bowl. Sprinkle salt and black pepper evenly over the meat. Gently mix just enough to combine without overworking. Shape into 12 even small patties, about the size of slider buns. Press a small indentation in the center of each patty with your thumb to help them cook evenly.
  2. Step 2: Heat a griddle or non-stick skillet over medium-high heat. Place patties on the surface and cook without moving for 3-4 minutes. Flip carefully and cook for another 3-4 minutes. In the final minute, place a slice of cheddar cheese on each patty and cover with a lid if available to melt the cheese.
  3. Step 3: While patties cook, whisk together mayonnaise, ketchup, yellow mustard, white vinegar, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, and a touch of sugar in a small bowl to make the special sauce. Adjust quantities to taste.
  4. Step 4: Spread a generous dollop of special sauce on the bottom half of each slider bun. Layer with a cheesy beef patty, shredded lettuce, and dill pickle slices. Top with the bun halves to assemble.
  5. Step 5: Serve the sliders fresh and warm. Optionally pair with your favorite sides or dips.

Notes

Store leftovers wrapped tightly in plastic wrap or foil in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 days. Reheat gently in the oven at 350°F for about 10 minutes to melt cheese and warm buns. Patties can be frozen separately for up to 3 months.
Feel free to substitute ground turkey or chicken for a leaner option, or try Swiss or American cheese instead of cheddar. Add sriracha or chopped pickles to the sauce for extra flavor, or top sliders with caramelized onions, bacon, or tomato slices.
