- Step 1: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Lightly grease an 8x8 or 9x9 inch baking dish.
- Step 2: Spread the crushed pineapple with juice evenly in the bottom of the baking dish. Do not drain the juice.
- Step 3: Sprinkle the dry yellow cake mix evenly over the pineapple layer without stirring.
- Step 4: Drizzle the melted unsalted butter evenly over the cake mix, covering as much surface area as possible.
- Step 5: Bake for 40 to 45 minutes until the top is golden brown and pineapple is bubbling around the edges.
- Step 6: Let the cake cool slightly before serving. Enjoy warm, optionally with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream.
Notes
Make sure not to stir the layers to preserve the distinct textures. You can add chopped nuts or shredded coconut on top before baking for extra flavor and texture. Store leftovers covered at room temperature for up to 2 days or refrigerated for up to 5 days. Freeze wrapped tightly for up to 3 months.
